Ilia Topuria vs. Max Holloway to headline UFC 308

The Featherweight division is gearing up for a monumental title clash as Ilia Topuria prepares to defend his title for the first time against ‘BMF’ champion Max Holloway.

UFC CEO Dana White took to social media to reveal the main event, co-main event, and several other bouts for the October 26 card. He announced:

“What’s up everybody, I’m back with another fight announcement, live from the Etihad Arena in Fight Island, Abu Dhabi. It’s UFC 308, the main event. Undefeated champ Ilia Topuria will make his first title defense against the legend and BMF champion, Max Holloway.

“Ilia is coming off a knockout win over Alex Volkanovski earlier this year. With 13 of his 15 wins coming by finish and performance bonuses in his last four fights, he is the best combat sports athlete to come out of Spain. This is a full-circle moment for him as he made his UFC debut in Abu Dhabi.

“Max Holloway is fresh off one of the most incredible knockouts in history, defeating Justin Gaethje to claim the BMF belt in the final second of their fight at UFC 300.

“Max holds records for the most strikes landed, most Featherweight wins, most Featherweight finishes, and the third-longest UFC win streak at 13.”

This fight is another opportunity for Topuria to prove why he is the champion, as he aims to become the first ever to knock out Max Holloway. UFC 308 is set to take place on October 26 in Abu Dhabi.
