Paige VanZant Joins Power Slap
On June 28, Paige VanZant will face Christine Wolmarans at the Fontainebleau Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, marking her first appearance in Dana White’s Power Slap promotion. This news was announced during the UFC Saudi Arabia card on Saturday.
“I’m doing Power Slap, whether people like it or not,” VanZant stated on her podcast with her husband, Austin Vanderford. “I’m Paige VanZant. I’ve competed in the UFC, bare-knuckle boxing, and traditional boxing. Now, I’m taking on Power Slap. I’m here to do it all and stir things up.”
VanZant had previously teased an upcoming announcement, which turned out to be her decision to enter Power Slap. She will be the first former UFC fighter to join White’s slap-fighting league, which was launched in early 2023.
Despite not having competed in MMA since her last UFC bout in 2020, the 30-year-old has remained active in various fighting disciplines. Vanzant fought bare knuckle for the BKFC and ventured into influencer boxing at Misfits Boxing.
Now, Paige VanZant is set to trade her boxing gloves for a slap-fighting debut at Power Slap 8, which will be part of International Fight Week in Las Vegas. The week will culminate with UFC 303 on June 29 at T-Mobile Arena.
